Maximillian (マクシミリアン, Makushimirian) is a character who appears in both Suikoden and Suikoden II. Maximillian is the leader of the once proud Maximillian Knights and is ably assisted by his squire, Sancho.

Maximillian was the leader of the once highly-regarded Maximillian Knights which had been ordered to disband in the past[1]. During the Gate Rune War, Maximillian, accompanied by his loyal squire, Sancho, attempted to aid in the Toran Liberation Army's attack on Moravia, not realising they were too late and the region of Senan had already been taken[2]. Encountering Hero (Suikoden), Maximillian offered to join the Liberation Army as his final job after realising just who it was he was talking to[3], wishing to go out in a blaze of glory[4].
After the fall of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Maximillian was stated to have retired from the knighthood[5].
