The Big Hole (大穴, Ōana), also known as the Ancient Ruins (古代遺跡, Kodai Iseki) or Abandoned Ruins (廃墟の遺跡, Haikyo no Iseki), is a location in Suikoden V. It is a mysterious cavern that appeared during the Sun Rune War.
Information
The Big Hole appeared in northeastern Falena, prompting investigation by both Jeane and Eresh. Levi and Bergen were also fascinated by the hole.
In the back of a series of caves found at the bottom of the hole lay a set of ancient underground ruins. There is a theory that these ruins were once the center of the Ancient Armes Dynasty. A vision, similar to the one experienced at Ceras Lake Ruins about the Dawn Rune, was experienced there but any connection is unknown.
It is said that these ruins suddenly became inaccessible after the conclusion of the Sun Rune War, once Eresh had disappeared.
