Greenhill Principality (グリンヒル市国, Gurinhiru Shikuni, Greenhill City-State) is a region in Suikoden II. It is a constituent city-state of the City-States of Jowston.
Overview
Greenhill Principality lies to the west of Muse Principality and in the past was the western part of the principality before gaining its independence. To the north-east lies the Matilda Knightdom and in the south lies Two River Principality. To the west lies the eastern frontiers of the Grasslands.
In the past, the lands of Greenhill formed the western territories of Muse Principality. The region would become an independent city-state in SY 373 with the blessing of Muse mayor Uriah after the city’s Grand Leaf Academy insisted on "academic independence".
It would become a member of the City-States of Jowston five years later, in 378, once the transfer of government facilities was complete. The Wisemail family has traditionally served as mayors of the city.
Prior to the 460 Dunan Unification War, poor harvests and lack of industry beyond its educational facilities led to Greenhill suffering a deficit of contributions, and thus influence, within the City-States of Jowston. During the conflict, Greenhill would fall to the Highland invasion.
Late in the war, the city was liberated by the New Alliance Army. Following the war, the principality would join the new Dunan Republic.
