Nikea (ニケア, Nikea) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Nikea is a wandering martial artist who fights for her living, and also for her dinner.
History
Nikea is a tall, heavily tanned young woman who makes her living competing in various fighting contests across the world. Her skill at the martial arts is surpassed only by her gluttony.
Nikea traveled to Stormfist to compete in the Sacred Games, hearing only that it was a huge fighting tournament that had not been held in 16 years, without realizing that her gender made her ineligible to compete. When told of the reason why (because the winner of the contest would marry the Princess) by Georg Prime, a flustered Nikea quickly made her excuses and left.
She eventually made her way to Lelcar where she found work under the shady boss of west Lelcar, Orok. She was hesitant when ordered by Orok to fight against the Prince, Kyle and their companions upon their attempt to free captured 'draft' soldiers, because she feared backlash from the royal family.
However, she was left with few other options as had she had already eaten her way into debt in the town, thus making this job necessary for payment. She was defeated along with the rest of Orok's "help" in combat and was forced to retreat, having done the best job she could.
From there, she travelled to Estrise, in hopes that she could catch a ship out of the country as soon as possible, as she feared the Prince would seek vengeance on her and have her drowned in the Feitas River. She ran out of potch and was trying to figure out how to leave, when she eventually encountered the Prince once more.
Relieved that no one wanted vengeance against her, she challenged him to a one-on-one duel, offering to join his army if she lost. Regardless of the result, she ended up losing once again and so pledged her loyalty to the Imperial City Recapture Army.
A very big eater, Nikea was known by many to eat like a pig. In fact, it was remarked that she could have made much more money in eating contests rather than martial arts tournaments, something she proved when she won an eating contest against the enormous Chuck. Goesch was quite pleased by her eagerness to eat the fresh vegetables that he grew at the castle.
Nikea was also slightly jealous of Zerase's complexion and frequently spent her time at Retso's restaurant and enjoyed eating his fish. She had known both Gavaya and Hazuki from past fighting tournaments and sometimes spent time with them.
Following the Sun Rune War, Nikea continued to enter martial arts events in order to save up money for an international eating spree of colossal proportions.
