Nelis (ネリス, Nerisu) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Nelis is an officer of the Island Nations Federation who carries a sense of responsibility for her ancestor's past deeds.
History
Nelis is a young woman serving in the Island Nations Federation's navy. She worked alongside Yahr, specialising in covert operations for the Island Nations, including the procurement of Rune Cannon components. A descendant of Pablo, viewed as one of the key figures involved in Rune Cannon work, Nelis felt a deep burden and sense of fate about her work with the weapons. This, combined with her serious personality, would sometimes cause her to grow frustrated with the more laid-back Yahr.
Nelis and Yahr would join the Imperial City Recapture Army when the Prince helped them stop some pirates who were intent on making off with an old Rune Cannon aboard the missing Island Nations vessel, Kerzalik, and then offered to help Nelis and Yahr destroy it. Nelis and Yahr were deeply impressed by this selflessness, and decided to fight alongside the Prince for the remainder of the Sun Rune War.
Like her friend Bernadette, Nelis enjoyed her time in Falena, taking in some of the unique culture of the place. She was especially impressed by the Feitas Dragon Cavalry in particular.
After the war ended, Nelis returned to her service to the Island Nations, but only briefly, as she and Yahr broke into the place where the Rune Cannon shells were kept and destroyed them all. They then took off, with Admiral Skald Egan said to be hot on their tails.
