Kuromimi (クロミミ, Kuromimi, Black Ears) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Kuromimi is a kobold warrior who set out to rescue Kobold Village's townspeople from the effects of Kwanda Rosman's Conqueror Rune and later arose to the position of Chief of Kobold Village.

Kuromimi is a young kobold warrior who sought a cure for the kobolds of Kobold Village after they were driven insane by Kwanda Rosman's Conqueror Rune. Kuromimi blamed humans for the Kobold's illness. As such, he avoided the humans he encountered, including Tir McDohl, claiming that even if he could not forgive the humans, he had to fix everyone's sickness.

Kuromimi travelled to the Village of the Dwarves in hopes of gaining a cure, but was unsuccessful, as the dwarves refused to give Kuromimi any cure. Kuromimi once more ran into Tir McDohl and his party, but once again quickly ran off in search of a solution to the kobolds' madness.

Kuromimi returned to Kobold Village, where he was ambushed by a party of Scarlet Moon Empire soldiers. Vowing that he could not get caught there, Kuromimi decided to team up with Tir McDohl, who had also been caught by the Scarlet Moon Empire ambush. Kuromimi fought through waves of soldiers, though eventually the sheer superiority in numbers saw the battle lean towards the Scarlet Moon Empire as the Toran Liberation Army soldiers tired. Kuromimi rebuked them for this, calling them weak and vowing to never give up. Kuromimi was saved from further fighting, however, by the arrival of Mathiu Silverberg and reinforcements from the Toran Liberation Army.

Following the defeat of Kwanda Rosman in the Battle at Pannu Yakuta Castle, Kuromimi asked to be part of the infiltration group that entered the castle in order to capture Kwanda Rosman. Following the defeat of Kwanda Rosman, Kuromimi was reunited with his now-cured mother and brother.

Despite being reunited with his now cured family, Kuromimi asked to join the Toran Liberation Army, saying that even if his people were better, the country was still sick. Kuromimi fought for the Toran Liberation Army throughout the war. He was seen as a great warrior by Gon, who joined the Toran Liberation Army in order to strive to be as good a warrior as Kuromimi. Kuromimi gave a speech to other kobolds prior to the last battle saying that he would show Kobold power, and that they should follow him. Kuromimi showed great bravery during the battle of Gregminster by standing up to Yuber.

Following the Gate Rune War, Kuromimi returned to Kobold Village, where he became the Village Chief.

Trivia

• Kuromimi is listed as "Black Ears" in the United States Suikoden manual. This is likely because the words kuro and mimi mean black and ears, respectively, in Japanese.
• Despite giving a speech where he is portrayed as the leader of the kobolds unit, Kuromimi is actually only a subordinate of the kobolds unit; the Commander is the non-kobold Fu Su Lu.
