Liukan (リュウカン, Ryuukan) is a supporting character in Suikoden who makes a cameo in Suikoden II. He is considered to be the finest physician in all of the Toran Republic.

Please take care. Even I, Liukan, cannot raise the dead. —  Liukan

Liukan is a famous doctor who practised in Rikon; eventually, he retired and moved into an isolated hermitage. Despite his retirement, patients continued to travel to Rikon in search of him.

During the Gate Rune War, Liukan was kidnapped by Milich Oppenheimer and placed in Soniere Prison to prevent him from aiding the Toran Liberation Army.

The Toran Liberation Army quickly launched a rescue effort; following his rescue, Liukan prepared an antitoxin for them.

Later, Liukan was sent to Goya in order to examine the sleeping dragons. Liukan discovered that they had been poisoned and was able to cure them after combining several rare ingredients.

After the war, Liukan opened a clinic, where he saved many lives.

During the Dunan Unification War, Liukan treated Ko after the boy was poisoned by a monster.

• Liukan is sometimes known as the "Holy Doctor."
• Liukan's weapon upgrades as Stick, Oak Stick, and Ebony Stick. Both of these types of wood have medicinal uses - Oak bark has been used by herbalists for years as an astringent, and the leaves and other parts of the trees of the ebony family were traditionally used to treat intestinal parasites, wounds, dysentery, and fever.
