The Dunan Republic (デュナン共和国, Deyunan Kyouwakoku) is a country located in the eastern region of the northern continent. It was established as the successor state of both the City-State of Jowston and the Highland Kingdom at the end of Suikoden II.

The Dunan Republic was formed from the victorious New State Army after the Dunan Unification War. It is a vast nation centred around Lake Dunan, incorporating the territories of the old City-State of Jowston and the former Highland Kingdom.
The nation's first President was former Greenhill City Mayor Teresa Wisemail, who was appointed Acting President immediately following the Dunan Unification War but would go on to win formal elections a year later. In other regions of the country, Fitcher would become Mayor of Muse City and Miklotov would be appointed leader of the Matilda Knights.
