Melodye (メロディ, Merodi) is a character in the original Suikoden game. She is a young woman looking for a rare rune to unlock her own special ability.

Melodye is a young phonologist residing in the town of Kirov who longed passionately for a Sound Rune after a Runemaster told her that she was born to use one. During the Gate Rune War, the the leader of the Toran Liberation Army found a Sound Rune and gave it to her. After he generously gave it to her. In gratitude, Melodye joined the Liberation Army's cause, using her phonological skills to aid the force to the best of her ability.
Following the end of the war, Melodye took off with her Sound Rune to collect all the sounds of the world.
