Rikimaru (リキマル, Rikimaru) is a character in Suikoden II. He is a wandering swordsman in search for revenge, although he is something of a glutton as well.

Rikimaru, wandering through the City-State of Jowston, would sometimes visit Ryube and Coronet. Riou found Rikimaru collapsed outside an inn, whining about his hunger. Riou would take him to an inn where he would proceed to fill his stomach with several courses of food. As Rikimaru had no potch, he was most grateful when Riou stepped in to pay the 3,000 potch tab he had instantly acquired and, grateful, joined Riou and his companions.
Although said to be searching for revenge[2], Rikimaru's primary concern while serving with the New State Army seemed to be food. He could found in Leona's tavern or Hai Yo's restaurant, grateful for the chance to eat. His letters in the Suggestion Box also referred to his championing of the food available at the castle. Before journeying to Jowston, while in Gregminster, he ate for two days straight and had to escape from the inn during the night as he couldn't pay his bill[3]. In fact, his favourite thing to do is to eat until he just about bursts, then spend an entire day sleeping it all off[4]. Despite this, Rikimaru was still a skilled warrior, serving as an infantry captain for the New State Army.
Following the Dunan Unification War, Rikimaru headed north, still in search of the object of his revenge[5].
Identity of Rikimaru
The name "Rikimaru" seems to be a yōmyō, a child naming convention that was once common in Japan. As Rikimaru is not a child, the name would appear to be an alias. His name, when broken down, would mean "Dear Riki (Ricky)". This, along with Richmond's stating of his hometown has led some to believe that Rikimaru is, or is avenging or has some other connection to, Richard Silverberg.
