Ouya (オゥヤー, Ouyā) is a supporting character in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. Ouya is a featherfolk fletcher and a resident of the featherfolk town of Gugleion.

History

I want to be able to help both my friends and the tribe.

—  Ouya

Ouya was a featherfolk fletcher. The best fletcher in Gugleion, he was even known to pluck his own feathers to use in his craft such was the intensity of his focus and zeal. Like many of his fellow featherfolk, Ouya was extremely skittish and shy.

The hero, Regius, and Myra came across Ouya in the Sidas Forest. The lone featherfolk was being threatened by Ionian soldiers, frustrated with their lack of progress in locating the Vermilion Axe. The Company would drive off the bullies and were able to persuade Ouya not to flee and he agreed to escort the party to Gugleion.

In Gugleion, despite his nerves, he would decide to join the Company in order to repay them for saving him, even as Chief Guwaini tried to keep the featherfolk from getting involved in such matters. Moving to the lake fortress, he would begin work on crafting arrows for the Company's archers.

As a Star of Destiny, Ouya was able to learn from several fletcher Starbearers from the past, including Wafdi, Mephitis, Seu Jin, and Yowinn. Wafdi was able to tell just by looking at Ouya's damaged arm feathers that he used his own feathers in his work, impressing him greatly.

Following the fall of the barrier, Ouya joined Bhutruga's featherfolk advance squad, turning his cowardice into an asset by confirming the safest lands.

Trivia

  • If you first encounter Ouya in Sidas Forest with Meamei in the party, her presence will prevent Ouya from leaving. If she is not in the party, the hero will use the featherfolk whistle learned from Mui to catch Ouya's attention instead.
