The Firefly Rune (ほたるの紋章, Hotaru no Monshō) is a rune which appears in several titles of the Suikoden series.
The Firefly Rune is a rune with a mysterious effect, making it so that enemies are much more likely to attack the bearer. It is a symbol of the spirit of self-sacrifice, to protect one's peers even if you put yourself at risk.
Ordinarily a very risky rune to bear, combined with something like the Knight Rune, it could make an individual a near-invincible bastion protecting their allies.
