Ingolf (インゴルフ, Ingorufu) is a supporting character in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. Ingolf is a magicite crafter, aimless following the HIY 200 Teras Pharma conflict.

History

My son was the same way... He talked like he didn't have any limits...

—  Ingolf

A magicite crafter from Schradt, Ingolf's son enlisted in the Holy Imperial Army during the HIY 200 Teras Pharma conflict and died fighting the centennial monsters.

Filled with the need for vengeance, he worked alongside his nephew, Rolf, to avenge him, crafting magicite with amazing speed for Rolf to use in battle. However, following the defeat of the final Teras Pharma, Ingolf was left hollow and aimless, his life devoid of meaning.

He would talk to wandering without purpose between the Ralos Woods and Lucille Plain. Concerned, Rolf would arrange for the hero and Gino to meet Ingolf through the Era Trees. At first rebuffed, Ingolf would slowly open up to Gino, revealing that he couldn't understand why his son had died so pointlessly, not understanding what he was fighting for.

Gino would attempt to convince Ingolf that his son had fought and died to protect those he loved and though tragic, there was still meaning to his efforts. At Ralos Woods, Ingolf would attempt to placate Gino with some muddled magicite teachings, but it was only when Gino's lack of understanding sparked Ingolf's spirit that he would realize his potential as a Starbearer and truly teach Gino.

With a new resolve sparked, Ingolf vowed to continue living on, first returning to the lake fortress to spend time with Rolf and apologize for worrying him. Following the defeat of Renefarious, Ingolf would eventually become the mayor of Schradt in the hopes of preventing the razing of the town 50 years later.

In a branch of the Infinity where the barrier fell, he was instead asked by Rolf to join the eastern caravan with his wife. On the journey he continued to rekindle his spark and hoped to have another child on arrival.
