Nova (ノーヴァ, Nōvua) is a supporting character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Nova is a powerful, statuesque warrior seemingly devoted to the Order of the One True Way and his charge, Sophia.

History

Nova was the father of Sophia and a member of the Order of the One True Way. He served under Chancellor Valfred as a Librarian but when the Mark of the Stars was implanted in him from the Chronicle of the Sacred Twin Blades, he was driven mad and ended up killing his wife and severely injuring Sophia.

Since that incident, Sophia became terrified of Nova and twisted her recollections so that Valfred became her father. Meanwhile, Nova donned a face-concealing mask and defended his daughter as her mostly silent bodyguard.

However, when he realized that Valfred has implanted the Mark of the Stars in Sophia, Nova became enraged and attempted to kill Valfred but was stopped and crushed by Sophia. Nova was then saved by the Company and, unlocking his potential as a Starbearer, and chose to fight alongside them to rescue his daughter.

His next attempt was thwarted when he discovered that Sophia had been transformed into a near-invulnerable sand monster, but eventually, thanks to the strategies of the Company, the Chronicle was removed and she was rescued from the Order's clutches.

Sophia would regain her memories of Nova as her father and the two would reunite. Nova would continue to watch over his daughter even after the war, remaining as part of the Company alongside Sophia.
