Biography

I don't really get it, but... I'm not apologizing! Nalkul told me that you've lost if you apologize!

—  Champo
Champo is a criminal.

Champo was a young Nay-Kobold who admired and looked up to his friend, Nalkul. Although he tended to move at a leisurely pace, giving the impression of someone who was slow, he was a prodigy at catching rats. In fact, he was the greatest rat-catcher on all of Nay Island. In other respects, he was a typical Nay-Kobold; fond of fish and disdainful of baths.

When Nalkul stole the Golden Seal, Champo was initially reluctant to part ways with it, being entranced by its beauty. It was also Champo who would lose it, accidentally knocking it into the warehouse at the Nay-Kobold Settlement on Nay Island due to Nalkul's sudden toss when confronted on the matter.

However, it was also Champo who recovered the seal from the warehouse it was lost in, after realizing that the seal belonged to the Allied Forces and Champo and Nalkuk's hero, Chiepoo. His prodigious rat catching skills allowed him to quickly corral all the creatures and the seal they had taken. Following this, he would join the Allied Forces along with Nalkul, eager to learn from the great Chiepoo.

Following the Island Liberation War, he would open a business along with Nalkul under the tutelage of Chiepoo, putting in the hard work necessary to turn the early struggles into future success.

Keen You have done well by coming here. In this room, you may confess what is in your heart and accept proper judgement.
Champo ...? I don't really get you...
Keen Would you secretly inform me about anyone onboard this ship who you think is causing problems?
Champo Problems? What...is that?

Keen Then, would you tell me what you think of the Hero?
Champo Mr. Lazlo? I know! He's Mr. Chiepoo's underling!
Keen Finally, quietly confess the things you wish to atone for, or all the things that you are thankful for.
Champo ...I don't really get it, but...I'm not apologizing! Nalkul told me you've lost if you apologize!
Forgiven
Champo Hmm? ...I did it!! I did it Nalkul!!
Punished
Champo Ouch!! Wh-What d'you do that for?!

Recruiting

Recruitment
File:Champo portrait.png After obtaining the Golden Seal as part of the plot, with Chiepoo in your party, visit the trading post at the Nay-Kobold Settlement and then attempt to cross the Suspension Bridge to the Stonecutter's Field. Return to the settlement and find Champo and Nalkul beside the locked warehouse. Complete Champo's rat-catching minigame and he will join you.

As you must have the Golden Seal in your inventory, Champo can only be recruited before the naval battle For Obel's Freedom.
