Tsai (ツァイ, Tsui) is a character in Suikoden II. Tsai is a craftsman who is so well-known for his skills with spears that he has acquired the nickname of 'Tsai of the Divine Spear.'

Biography
Suikoden II

Tsai is a craftsman and talented spearman. He once pierced an iron helmet with a spear, earning him the nickname 'Tsai of the Divine Spear.'[1] Despite his talent, his wife disapproved of him using his spear[2].
Tsai originally lived in Ryube, but moved into the mountains surrounding the town seeking privacy[3]. However, people came to his Ryube home long after he had moved in hopes of meeting him[4]. His reputation also led to his recruitment by Viktor's Mercenaries as Viktor believed that only Tsai could repair the damaged Fire Spears. Tsai quickly agreed to join, having already anticipated such an event occurring.
Though Tsai repaired the Fire Spears, Viktor's Mercenaries were unable to keep Luca Blight from taking the Mercenary Fortress.
Tsai followed the mercenaries, eventually joining the New State Army after it was founded. Tsai inspired some adoration within the ranks of the soldiers of the New State Army with his prowess as a spearman[5] and defended the army's headquarters against both Solon Jhee's and Kiba Windamier's attacks. Against his wishes, his daughter, Tomo, also joined the New State Army.
Following the Dunan Unification War, Tsai reunited with his wife and daughter[6].
