Mohsen (モンセン, Monsen) is a supporting character in Suikoden V. Mohsen is a successful armour merchant with sympathies towards the Godwin Faction.
Biography
Mohsen is an armour salesman and a supporter of the ideals of the Godwin Faction. Unlike many armourers who followed Marscal Godwin simply out of the guaranteed profits that resulted from his expansionist policies, Mohsen genuinely believed in the cause of the Godwins.
In Lelcar, he opened up an armour shop under the protection of Orok on the town's western islet. When the Godwin attack on Lelcar during the Sun Rune War resulted in the razing of the western islet including Mohsen's store, he was hurt deeply and questioned his loyalty to the Godwins.
Concluding that the House of Godwin had no real noble intentions for Falena outside their own ambition, Mohsen agreed to join the Imperial City Recapture Army, noting that the Prince had bought armour from him in the past. Mohsen opened his new store, the "Mohsen Number Zero Armour Shop", at Ceras Lake and often asked warriors how comfortable their armour was, or if they had any requests. He would then use their responses and suggestions to help shape his marketing strategies.
Wasil noted that Mohsen never needed to bribe the Godwin Faction into making large orders, like other, less reputable, armourers, as his products were so good. While at Ceras Lake, he asked Dongo to help him in the construction of even better armour, a request Dongo had to refuse, since he had no experience in the area. Later during the war, Mohsen had the idea to craft light, but durable armour, for dragon horses. Rahal was open to the idea, but when Mohsen went to measure Lance, he ended up submerged in the baths for his trouble.
As the war progressed, Mohsen began to further focus his attentions not on just selling armour, but on the crafting of superior armour. Following the conclusion of the Sun Rune War, he teamed up with his craftsmen to sell wholesale. Together they supplied superb Zelant-quality armour to Falena.
