Kinnison (キニスン, Kinisun) is a character in Suikoden II who also appears in Genso Suikogaiden Vol.1.

Kinnison is a hunter who joined the New State Army in order to protect the forests from the fires of war.

Profile

Appearance

You better cough up that edible, mutt, or so help me...

A handsome youth, Kinnison had short brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a red scarf and a loose yellow coat over a white ensemble. He wore brown boots and arm bracers.

His arrow satchel was slung over his right shoulder. As such, he held his bow with his left hand and drew and fired his arrow with his right.

Personality

Kinnison was a kind-hearted young man, who hunted for a living. Very quiet and reserved by nature, he was not overly fond of people or large gatherings. He was distressed enough by the destruction of the forest by war to put that aside and fight for the New State Army.

He is able to communicate and converse with Shiro through their heart-to-heart bond. He cannot communicate with any other animal in such a way, however.

History

We've lived in the forest this whole time, so it's hard to get used to so many people.

—  Kinnison

Kinnison was a hunter who lived in the forest surrounding Ryube Village along with his dog, Shiro. He had found the young Shiro by his dying mother and had raised him ever since, the two becoming firm partners.

Great, now its mother will never accept it!

Seeing the compassion of the hero when he returned a baby bird to its nest, he would speak with him. He would cooperate with the New State Army after seeing the damage the Highland Army caused to the forest he called home on their advance. His faithful hound would also accompany him.

Even as part of the New State Army, Kinnison's calm and peaceful nature meant that even as an archer captain, he would never shoot any more arrows than was strictly necessary. Adjusting to life at the New State Army Headquarters, he would grow close to Ayda, a forest hunter whom he shared quite a lot in common with.

After the Dunan Unification War, Kinnison returned his normal life in the forest near Ryube, though he visited Ayda in the deep forest from time to time.
