Kessler (ケスラー, Kesurā) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Kessler was a bandit who supported the ideals of the Toran Liberation Army.
Biography

Kessler is a bandit leader who had strong empathy towards the Toran Liberation Army, particularly for Odessa Silverberg[1]. Despite this, Kessler did not feel himself able to do anything about the Scarlet Moon Empire, considering himself just a bandit[2].
Kessler held such esteem for Odessa that he became enraged after he discovered his subordinate, Ledon, had drugged and robbed Odessa Silverberg with Robber's Tea[3] without realizing who she was. He ordered Ledon to create an antidote[4] and revive the entourage.
Later on, during the height of the Gate Rune War, Kessler and Ledon travelled to the Liberation Army's Secret Factory after an Imperial crackdown in the area[5]. There, they were discovered by Ronnie Bell, who captured them after accusing them of snooping[6].
There, Ledon and Kessler ran into Tir McDohl. After meeting with him, Kessler joined the Liberation Army, fighting with them for the remainder of the war.
After the formation of the Toran Republic, Kessler became the Captain of the Toran Republic Patrol Corps[7]. By 475, he had retired from the position.
Trivia
- Despite being the leader of the Mt. Tigerwolf Bandits, Kessler is only a subordinate in the "Bandits" battle group.
