Fukien (フッケン, Fukken) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Fukien is the Head Monk of Qlon Temple.

Fukien is the Head Monk of Qlon Temple. Fukien was aware of the 108 Stars and predicted the gathering of the 108 Stars of Destiny by Tir McDohl[1]. Fukien even predicted when and why Tir McDohl would travel to Qlon temple[2][3]. He led Tir McDohl into the Cave of the Past located behind Qlon Temple, telling Tir that much awaited him inside the cave and that Tir must be ready to accept all of it[4].
Once Tir McDohl and his party retrieved the Star Dragon Sword, Fukien travelled with Tir in order to participate in the gathering of the 108 Stars of Destiny. Fukien encouraged to recruit as many Stars of Destiny as he could[5] His wisdom aided the army during his time at Toran Castle. He also conversed with Liukan as the two had unique perspectives on the war as well as life, given their advanced ages and their individual knowledge, both mourning the loss of youth that war inevitably would bring[6].
Following the Gate Rune War, Fukien resumed his duties at Qlon[7], his destiny having been fulfilled. Fukien opened Qlon to all who wished to study there but was forced to eject the warrior priest Gantetsu for his increasingly violent behaviour. Following the Dunan Unification War, however, Fukien welcomed a presumably changed Gantetsu back into the fold.
