History

Enough of this! We'll grow old waiting for my brother to make a decision!

—  Bhutruga

Bhutruga was a featherfolk shaman. He was something of a leader in the featherfolk city of Gugleion and the brother of Chief Guwaini. Conscious of the high status of shamans in the tribe, he tried to speak and act with gravitas, though often failed to convey himself well.

More dynamic and action-focused than most featherfolk, he berated both his brother's reluctance to commit to action against the Vermilion Axe or the Holy Empire of Ionia and the cowardice of his fellow featherfolk. His desire to act led him to join the Company in their effort to defeat the flying Teras Pharma that had been terrorizing Sidas Forest.

Oft-serious, Bhutruga could be found ruminating on many matters at the lake fortress. Feeling he needed to increase his strength, he would apprentice himself to Laskaris Liuis, learning the ways of archery from him. He would also attempt to convince the hero to instill a more formal form of military discipline among the Company, to little effect.

Yuga shamans from the past would sometimes be surprised to see a featherfolk wielding their magic, but Bhutruga proved himself more than capable of inheriting their abilities as a Star of Destiny.

Following the fall of the barrier, Bhutruga led a team to find suitable land for the featherfolk. His success convinced them to migrate.
