The Order of the One True Way (ひとつの道の協会, Hitotsu no Michi no Kyōkai) is an organization and body with the scope and power projection of a nation that is seen in Suikoden Tierkreis. It dominates the continent on which the game takes place.
Information
The Order of the One True Way is a unique organization, founded and led by Chancellor Valfred and based out of Cynas. Its central philosophy is an extreme form of predestination in which every single action of every aspect of the world had been determined in advance. The Order taught that strife came from people struggling against this destiny, knowingly or unknowingly. Their mantra was "One world! One future!".
By predicting natural disasters and helping in prevention, preparation and recovery efforts throughout the continent, the Order had gained tremendous support from the people, making it an extremely powerful body with Chapters everywhere, able to clash with nations such as the Magedom of Janam and the Kingdom of Astrasia.
Though the Order always initially presented its teachings peacefully, it was not afraid to deploy its military strength to enforce compliance in pursuit of its goals. Although the Order preached that the coming of the One King would prevent the world's destruction, the truth was far more sinister. Valfred's motive was to fuse the world with the One King's in order to be reunited with his lost family through the Perpetual Day.
To further that end, the Order held Archivists and Librarians in its ranks to obtain Chronicles for its use. It was these attempts at Chronicle recovery that would bring the Order into conflict with the hero, galvanizing an opposition that would eventually bring about the Order's fall.
