Karl (カール, Kāru) is a supporting character in Suikoden IV and Suikoden Tactics. Karl is a fiercely dedicated martial artist.

Biography

Karl was a passionate martial-artist who devoted his life to training and strengthening his body. It was said that he never laughed which wasn't exactly true, he merely did not have time to laugh due to the intensity of his training. Despite his intensity, he was a kindhearted man with a goodly sense of justice.

He would meet the hero in the backstreets of Razril following the town's liberation from the Kooluk Empire and would subsequently join the force. On board the Headquarters Ship, Karl would spend his time training on deck and sometimes worried he might be disturbing everyone else on deck. He was also prone to letting out war cries which would later earn him the ire of Rachel when the two journeyed together in Kooluk.

Throughout the Island Liberation War, he defeated enemy after enemy without much satisfaction and following the conflict he would leave on a journey to train and hone his body even further.

Karl would end up in Kooluk where his strong sense of justice would lead him to try and defend a group of children against a monster attack at the Collanbal Ruins alone. Luckily, he would be backed up by Kyril and, after rescuing the children, would accompany Kyril's group on their journey through the Empire.
