Hagar Biarki (ハガル・ビャルキ, Hagaru Byaruki) is a supporting character in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. He is the thoughtful and well-respected Chief of Therbe Village.

History

You are a descendant of the hero Thorwad and Syggni's son. But I believe that your power to accomplish things comes from your own will and not your bloodline.

—  Hagar Biarki

Hagar Biarki was the Chief of Therbe Village during the HIY 300 Teras Pharma conflict. He was proficient in the martial arts and in the past was the martial arts master of Boldon. His lessons still resonated with Boldon even as he became an accomplished martial artist and village chief in his own right. Hagar's proficiency was such that he had never been seen armed.

As village chief Hagar was also a skilled leader and negotiator, earning the trust of everyone in the village. Even prior to the Teras Pharma attacks, Hagar had been traveling to neighboring towns and villages such as Schradt in order to formulate plans for both the Teras Pharma and the Holy Empire of Ionia.

Hagar was away from the village on one such negotiation when the Teras Pharma attack and the rise of the Vermilion Axe began in earnest. After returning, Hagar focused his efforts on Therbe Village but gave his blessing to the hero's decision to chase down the Vermilion Axe, bequeathing his group the use of the lake fortress.

As the Company grew in power, Hagar made the conscious decision not to formally join and instead supported the group from the sidelines. Hagar saw much of Syggni in the hero. Proud of the hero's leadership and growth as a person after all he had been through, Hagar chose to let him charge of matters and do as he saw fit.

Following the fall of the Barrier, Hagar remained Chief of Therbe Village, helping to run things for those villagers who could not or did not want to leave. He made sure that Therbe Village would always welcome back those who left if they need to return.
