Rania (ラニア, Rania) is a minor character in Suikoden V. Rania is the flute-maker for the Feitas Dragon Cavalry and the older sister of Rahal.
History
Rania is Rahal's sister who resides in Sauronix Castle where she works as the flute-maker of the Feitas Dragon Cavalry. She is able to hear the voices of dragon horses and other sensitive noises that most humans cannot perceive, and as such has the ability to make excellent flutes. Rania can also hear the sound of the flutes, which is unusual, as only dragon horses can hear it, while humans cannot.
The Prince first met Rania at her workshop in Sauronix Castle, wherein she played them a tune with the flute; however, the Prince could not hear anything. After they exited the workshop, three dragon horses were waiting outside; Rania explained that they came because they heard her playing the flute. After this, Rania joined the Imperial City Recapture Army.
When they were children, Rania and Rahal often took turns dressing as one another due to their physical similarities. This came in handy when Rahal was able to disguise himself as Rania in order to distract a pair of Godwin guards in Gordius.
Following the Sun Rune War, Rania returned to Sauronix where she continued making excellent flutes for the Dragon Cavalry.
Trivia
- If the player puts Rania into their party in a support slot, the battle music will be replaced with a more woodwind-focused arrangement.
