Mel (メル, Meru) is a supporting character in Suikoden III. Mel is a traveller who sports a large doll, Branky, on her right hand.

Biography

A young lady who talks with a doll, Branky. She insists she has no ventriloquism skills and that the doll speaks on its own.

—  Mel's profile
I guess that means she does wash that hand?

Mel is a traveller who journeys with Branky, a cartoonish wolf puppet, on her right hand. Branky tends to speak frequently and coarsely, often reflecting badly or oddly on Mel. Mel herself insists that she has no ventriloquism talent and that the puppet speaks of its own volition, however.

She was invited to perform at Budehuc Castle while passing through Iksay Village. Despite claiming she had no particular puppetry talents, she still agreed to stay at the castle.

Branky's propensity for speaking its mind tended to anger many inhabitants of the castle. When in her room, Mel was said to be very silent, for unknown reasons.

Following the War of the Champions, she would set off on a journey, leaving word that she was visiting Branky's home town.

Trivia

  • Mel is right-handed, mystifying Kidd as to how she ate as she seemingly never removed Branky from her right hand.
