Manaril (マナリル, Manariru) is a major character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Manaril is a princess of the Magedom of Janam and a reader, an ability that made her extremely valuable.

Biography

Princess Manaril was born the daughter of Mage Lord Danash VIII and the 2nd Empress Consort Rizwan. When her mother, who was also the director of the Arcane Academy, discovered that her daughter was a reader, Manaril became essentially a prisoner, forced to painfully extract knowledge from the Chronicles.

Her half-brother, Prince Shams, who was always protective of Manaril would send a covert request to the Company to smuggle her out of El-Qaral. Following the successful mission, Manaril would join the Company. Mubal would sometimes feel uneasy around her as, though sympathetic to her plight, he had never made any overt move to help her during her time in the academy.

In the past, Manaril had only thought of making herself useful to her mother and never took a moment to think of her own needs but over time, she became so touched by her brother's feelings that she became determined to live her own life. Her situation was similar in a way to Sophia's and the two became friends.

Following the 10th world fusion, the history of the region was rewritten so that Manaril and Shams were full siblings, the children of Kureyah, who had died many years ago. However, as Starbearers, they both knew the reality of the situation.

After the war ended, Manaril would follow in her mother's footsteps, researching Chronicles and mage arts while continuing to work with the Company.
