The Apiro Desert (アピロ砂漠, Apiro Sabaku) is a location in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. It is a vast desert located at the southern fringes of the Holy Empire of Ionia.
Information
Stretching across the southern reaches of the Holy Empire of Ionia's claimed territory, the Apiro Desert was a vast expanse of sand dunes, difficult to traverse and easy to become lost in. The southern areas of the desert marked the southern fringe of the barrier and attempting to proceed in that direction would end with a person walking endlessly.
Zephtelos Fortress, which later became the Behemoth Grave, was located in the Apiro Desert. As were Bayan Oasis and the Peft Ruins. In HIY 300, Jagwan's scalehorde forces resided in the desert. Following the fall of the barrier, they would migrate south founding a nation of scalehorde there.
HIY 100 saw Astrid open a hole in the barrier in the Apiro Desert to show the hero the true state of the world beyond. In HIY 200, Yaguas Liuis patrolled the desert, aiding travelers who became lost or fatigued in the region. In HIY 300, the hero and Moudi would meet Sunil here, having been affected by the heat while wandering in the desert.
