Esmeralda was a Scarlet Moon Empire aristocrat convinced of her own beauty[1] who encountered Master McDohl in Antei and convinced herself she was about to become the subject of a kidnapping[2] by the Toran Liberation Army. She allowed herself to be "abducted" in exchange for a rare jewel, the Opal[3], the delivery of such apparently showing Tir's good faith in the matter[4]. Her aristocratic upbringing allowed her to be one of the commanders of the Liberation Army's Narcissist regiment, although she often complained about her surroundings[5].
Following the conclusion of the Gate Rune War, Esmeralda returned home, passing the time peacefully in a garden full of flowers[6].
