Utze (ウッツェ, Uttsue) is a supporting character in Gensosuikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. Utze is a trader-slash-spellstone crafter and an acquaintance of Regius.
Biography

Utze was a spellstone crafter who owned a workshop on the Melisma Prairie. When he was younger, he had been a duplicitous trader but after coming into contact with Regius, who used Utze to help him acquire prohibited documents, Utze would eventually uncover the secret of creating malicite.
He continued to cooperate with Regius, and seemed to consider him a friend, although he was not above his old swindling ways. Hearing about a group taking on the Vermilion Axe distinct from the Ionian Army, he would make contact by sending a prohibited text to Najin in Fairpeak, encouraging them to seek him out at Melisma Plains.
There, he would explain that there were more texts located at West Mt. Hioni and would open an item store at the force's base after being escorted past the praurie's roaming Terrus Firma, claiming to offer discounts for the the hero.
However, Utze's prices were exactly the same as any other store and, when pressed, he would pout, claiming the hero did not under the hard work of item trading. His despondency would instantly vanish when the hero apologized for bringing up the matter.
After the battle, he would return to his trading ways, using his talents to make a tidy sum.
