Shilo is a gambler, drawn to the lifestyle like a moth to a flame. He had his own gambling corner in the Lakewest inn. He was also a long-time rival of Gaspar and the two would confront each other in the Greenhill Forest during the Dunan Unification War, engaging each other in a fierce gambling battle.
When he originally encountered the hero in his Lakewest den, Shilo was dismissive of him due to his youth before deciding to hear him out after noticing he seemed different from other people of his age.
When invited to join the New State Army, Shilo agreed to do so provided that the leader won 5,000 potch from him in a game of Chinchirorin. Afterwards, Shilo agreed to ride out the hero's luck and opened a Chinchirorin stall at the New State Army Headquarters.
There, Shilo made his way gambling, but also showed a surprising amount of combat prowess both in pitched battles and smaller fights, becoming a special forces member during his time in the New State Army.
Following the war, Shilo remained in business at New State Army Headquarters, enjoying a highly successful business.
