Mace (メース, Mēsu) is a supporting character in Suikoden. Mace is a master blacksmith, with several apprentices across the Toran region.

Mace, known as the master blacksmith, was a skilled blacksmith with several disciples of his own before he disappeared without warning[1]. Mace moved to the isolated Seek Valley, working in solitude. The Toran Liberation Army encountered him there, with Mace remarking first that the Liberation Army was too small to change the world[2] and, after it grew, that he simply couldn't trust the force[3]. However, Mace's disciples, Maas, Meese, Mose and Moose were able to convince Mace to come out of retirement and serve the Toran Liberation Army[4].
Following the Gate Rune War, Mace let his disciple, Moose succeed him as the master blacksmith before retiring for good[5].
Trivia
- Mace's weapon level when he joins you is 15. As Mace cannot sharpen his own weapon, he is the only star of destiny who cannot have a level 16 weapon without cheating.
