Sphiel (スフィール, Sufīru) is a supporting character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Sphiel is a mysterious woman, regarded by some as the Snow Fairy of the Ch'olui Mountains. Her in-game title is Snow Fairy.
History
Sphiel is a mysterious woman, found living in the Ch'olui Mountains. Rumors of her existence had spread around Tehah Village, where she was regarded as the "Snow Fairy".
On Ch'olui Mountain, she would appear suddenly before travelers, asking them if they liked snow. Regardless of the answer, she would deliver a snowstorm upon them, driving them away. Her motivation seems simply to be her love of snow, her misunderstanding that people like to eat snow, and her desire to share the snow she can create with as many people as possible.
Dogha knew of Sphiel and, in fact, the two were romantically linked in the past. Sphiel would leave once she realized that Dogha had ulterior motives, namely a desire to prevent her constant snow flurries. Over time, she would forget this dalliance, only vaguely remembering his face.
Eventually, the hero would be hired to stop her and would similarly be driven off by her snow flurries. Talking to Dogha, the hermit would reveal the way to sate her desire to share her bounty was to tell her you were full. After doing so, Sphiel would join the hero's forces.
Following the conclusion of the war against the Order, she would find a welcome use for her talents, appearing in taverns across the land to offer weary travelers refreshing drinks cooled with snow.
Personality and Traits
Sphiel is calm, distant and utterly obsessed with snow and with sharing it with everyone she meets. She held a romantic past with Dogha, but whether that extended beyond her appreciation of his supposed appetite for snow is unknown.
It is also not known whether Sphiel is truly the Snow Fairy of the Ch'olui Mountains, a human magician with a curious fixation on snow, or something else entirely.
