Zayin (ザイン, Zain) is a minor character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Zayin is a prototype weapon that survived the 11th world fusion, with a goal of preventing the advent of the One King, or failing that, the destruction of the One King.

Biography

Zayin is some time of humanoid weapon, discovered by the Company in the ruins of Rarohenga, following the 11th world fusion. The title "Zayin" was a provisional designation given to them during their developmental stage, its full 'title' is Prototype Unit 7.

Zayin was designed to battle the One King but development was suspended in favour of more effective weaponry. Their original world was theorised to have been destroyed by the full weight of this weaponry, leaving it easy pickings for the One King. Having survived the world fusion, Zayin was repaired and activated by the efforts of Balsam and Yod. They would assess the situation before agreeing to ally with the Company in order to secure the greatest odds of defeating the One King.

Zayin's combat ability is apparently enormous and could be augmented with various types of equipment. They estimated that they could take Cynas alone with type-3 equipment. They also, at one stage, were equipped with highly advanced weaponry that could have potentially defeated the One King. Unfortunately, none of these augmentations survived the world fusion, leaving Zayin to fight in their base form.

Later, another similar type of weapon, designation Lamade, would appear near Rarohenga. This unit had gone berserk, having been warped much like Rarohenga itself, and had to be destroyed by the Company before it could attack Pharamond. Afterwards, Rufa would appear to comfort Zayin, with Zayin apparently taking her words to heart despite claiming to lack the mechanisms to feel sad or cry.

Following the war, it appears that Zayin spent its time with Balsam and Yod, apparently having no problem with Balsam's continued research and tinkering of their insides.
