Marlowe is a young man who was hired by Gustav Pendragon to tutor his young daughter, Lilly[2]. Though intelligent, Marlowe's talents were not often appreciated in Tinto and he had few friends, save Koyu[3].

During the Dunan Unification War, Marlowe met Hero (Suikoden II, whose leadership inspired Marlowe so much that he left Tinto to become a member of the New State Army. Marlowe also began writing a chronicle of Riou's rise to fame[4], which he entitled Riou: The Path of the Warrior[5].

After the war ended, Marlowe founded a library in Tinto where he taught many children to love learning[6].

Trivia

  • Marlowe, along with Koyu, has a somewhat expanded role in the plot if the player chooses to run away from Tinto with Nanami.
  • Marlowe is evidently quite a slow writer[7].
