Starter Box & Booster Pack Vol.1 (スターターボックス&ブースターパックVol.1, Sutātābokkusu & Būsutāpakku Vol.1) is the name given by Konami to the original core release of cards for the Genso Suikoden Card Stories. It was released in Japan on September 13, 2001.

Information

This set contained 191 cards in all, split between the Starter Box and the Booster Pack Vol.1. It was impossible to complete all 191 cards via the booster packs alone. The set was eventually replaced by the To the Promised Land set, which contains slightly altered re-release versions of the cards in this initial set.

The cards are ordered by card type (Mastermind -> Leader -> Commoner -> Craftman -> Free -> Mission -> Facilities) and then in Japanese order, with occasional weighting towards important or main characters. All 148 character cards have Star Parallel shiny variants but only a comparative handful (26) have Radiance Star Parallel variants.

The set focuses on characters and situations from Suikoden II, although McDohl, Sgt. Joe, Nash and Lepant each have a card in this collection.
