Tsaubern (ツァウベルン, Tsuauberun) is a supporting character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Tsaubern is an enigmatic visitor to the region who clearly knows far more than he lets on about a variety of matters.
Biography
Tsaubern came from the eastern continent to investigate the Order and the various forces resisting them, including the Company. He is a fan of high places, and could often be found standing anywhere that was even a little off the ground.
Despite his eccentricities, Tsaubern is actually a carefree and highly intelligent person. Following the 10th world fusion, he was able to deduce that an empire that had one existed had vanished, without coming into contact with a Chronicle. He was skillful in trying to extract information, such as when he had a superficially empty conversation with Yula.
He would eventually come to work with the Company, aiming to check the Order's advances. Yula noted that the head of the Halnish family, one of Ritterschild's Six Court Nobles, shared many mannerisms in common with Tsaubern and following the war an envoy would claim they saw Tsaubern at a meeting of the Six Court Nobles. That said, there is no solid proof that these people are one and the same.
Name
Tsaubern's name probably stems from the homonymous German verb zaubern, which means to perform magic.
