Regius (レギウス, Regiusu) is a major character in Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. He is the mysterious, ever-calm and calculating strategist of the hero's forces.
History

Noted for his air of mystery, Regius describes himself as an explorer of truth, extremely dedicated to uncovering the truth of the Holy Empire of Ionia and the world they live in.
Although his past is mostly a mystery, it is known that some 20 years ago (c. 280) he worked for a secret Ionian organization called the Grubs. His reasons for leaving the group are unknown. At some point, he also found and rescued Guilleriga, who was being held by humans as a pet. He would tutor him in his ninja arts and espionage.
He would conduct several investigations into Ionia's history and forbidden texts over the years, mostly with limited success. Meeting the hero and impressed by his struggle against the Ionian Army to date, he would join his group, offering to help bring the hero victory, in exchange for discovering the knowledge about the world he craved.
Regius was a capable strategist, spy, fighter and illusionist, making him invaluable to the hero's war efforts. Although unflinchingly helpful, the motivations behind his support, aside from his dedication to the "truth" remained unknown. Beyond his driving ambition, he often appeared cold and aloof.
Following the final battle at the Yggdrasilian Palace, Regius would lose himself in research among the documents found there, before departing on a journey without telling anyone in advance. It was rumored he had set out for the origin point of the original Teras Pharma.
