Hortensius (ホルテンシウス, Horutenshiusu) is a supporting character in Gensosuikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki. He is a formerly great chef suffering from carnophobia.
Biography
Hortensius was a famous chef who worked in the Holy City of Thaksis, some 200 years in the past. He served as a head chef at a high-end restaurant in the city, catering to the nobility. He was known as the "Emperor of Meat Dishes".
During the war with the Terrus Firma 200 years ago, he would go the front lines, in order to support the soldiers fighting with his dishes. However, upon seeing the piled up corpses, he would be traumatized and unable to work with fresh meat any longer.
