Murakami Junichi (村山 吉隆) is a game designer, director, and producer. Mostly known for his work on the Castlevania series of video games for Konami, Murakami is now a director for the upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Biography
Castlevania
Murakami had worked at Konami since at least 1994, being credited in the Sega CD and Mega Drive game Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters, as well as Animaniacs for the Sega Mega Drive. His first involvement in the Castlevania series would come with minor credits for both Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in 1997, and Castlevania Chronicles in 2001.
In 2003, Murakami would hold the role of director for the Game Boy Advance game Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. He would also serve as director for the 2006 Castlevania Double Pack which bundled the game with Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance.
Other works
Murakami would receive a special thanks credit from the US localization team for Suikoden V in 2006. This is his only credited role in the Suikoden series. He also server as director and producer on the game OZ (Sword of Etheria outside Japan) in 2005.
His last recorded Konami credit was as producer for the 2009 crossover fighting game Sunday vs Magazine: Shūketsu! Chōjō Daikessen.
Post-Konami work
On July 24th, 2020, Murakami was revealed as a producer and art director for the upcoming title Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
