Lethe was a refiant, a human recreated to better use powerful magic and extend their natural life span. However, the use of that magic would come at the cost of their life force. She was one of the few survivors of the original war with the Terrus Firma.
As a veteran of the war, she wore the uniform of a high-ranking mage from the Holy Imperial Army. Despite her fatalistic attitude, she tended to speak airily to anyone she met.
By the year 200, she had secluded herself in Perie Forest, content to idle her days away until her inevitable demise. Nikumba would eventually come to the forest, and feeling a kinship based on the imminent demise of both their peoples, lived together.
Laquila felt great guilt about supplying the refiants with mana stones following their meeting with Lethe. Despite the risk to her lifespan, she was willing to teach Zephon some of her magic on Apiro Hill. She would also use her magic to aid Astrid, during her own investigations into the Terrus Firma.
She would pass away, bringing an end to the refiants, mere days after the final defeat of Renefarious.
