It is an important trade route for merchants and travellers as most of the principalities in the region lie against the lake and fisherman frequently use the rich lake as well as the source of their livelihood. Stonefish, squid, shellfish, blowfish and shrimp are the most common catches for consumption. Salmon is highly desired by fishermen but catch rates are quite low.

Lake Dunan (デュナン湖, Deyunan Mizūmi) is a location in Suikoden II. It is a large lake that dominates the Dunan region.
