The United Kingdom of Ritterschild (ライテルシルト連合王国, Raiterushiruto Rengō Ōkoku) is a nation that is mentioned in Suikoden Tierkreis. Its interests are mostly represented in the game by members of the Belfar Agency.
Information
Ritterschild is a united nation located in the eastern part of the continent, on the other side of a strait dividing it from the Magedom of Janam. It consists of six different grand dukedoms, and the leaders of each grand dukedom, called the Six Court Nobles, administer the nation as a whole.
In modern times, it has an amicable relationship with Janam but in the past, the two were fierce rivals and many within Ritterschild oppose the current peace. Decades ago, Ritterschild held the Chronicle of Fierce Regalia, somehow obtained from the Order of the One True Way, and after extensive research, the tome was used to develop the nation's much feared gun technology, forming the backbone of its military prowess.
The Chronicle was taken by Janam in a past war and has not been returned, even with the thawing of relations. During the war against the Order, Ritterschild maintained an official policy of neutrality. However, Ritterschild was wary of the Order and did not remain passive, sending members of the Belfar Agency to attempt to recapture the Chronicle of Fierce Regalia but also cooperating with the Company through both the agency and Tsaubern.
