The Magedom of Janam (ジャナム魔道帝国, Janamu Madō Teikoku, Janam Mage Empire) is a nation that appears in Suikoden Tierkreis. It is the primary opponent of the Order of the One True Way for a large portion of the game.

Information

The Magedom of Janam is a great empire that controls the eastern lands of the continent. Its imperial capital is the mage city of El-Qaral. Its famed mage arts stems from the Chronicles under its control; the Chronicle of the Ancient Covenant and the Chronicle of Fierce Regalia. The study of which provides the basis for all their magical abilities.

Backed by this power, it expanded into becoming the largest nation on the continent, including the annexation of Salsabil some 50 years past. Janam was also engaged in a long struggle with the United Kingdom of Ritterschild, with many losses on both sides. Eventually the Magedom came into conflict with the Order of the One True Way and their politics have been centered around this war ever since.

With this, Janam became the leader of a variety of anti-Order forces, including the Blades of Night's Veil and the Company. Even when this alliance fell apart, through King Danash VIII's poorly received political maneuvering, the Magedom continued its fight against the Order.

The Magedom would be suddenly and permanently removed with the 10th world fusion. The million citizens of the Magedom of Janam were instantly wiped out as the world fusion brought the Janam Desert down on them. Everything the Magedom had accomplished disappeared into sand, with only the ruins of El-Qaral speaking to it having ever existed.
