The Empire of the North Star (北辰皇国, Hokushin Kōkoku) is a nation that is mentioned in Suikoden Tierkreis. Although a large nation, it mainly serves a background role during the events of the game.

The Empire of the North Star is a large nation located to the north of the territories under the control of the Order of the One True Way.
In the Empire, battle and war are considered with an almost religious sense of reverence. It is customary for the Empire's Seven Imperial Generals to be accompanied into battle by a War Priestess who oversees all relevant rites and rituals.
Additionally, it is held that battles based on self-righteousness or in the pursuit of personal gain are considered blasphemous. Wars are also generally not forbidden to spill across the Empire's borders.
Although it seems that Empire has various unique cultures within its borders, but more detail is not available as the Empire has no formal relations with any of its neighbours.
Several individuals from the Empire of the North Star interacted with the Company during its war with the Order, but generally tried to obscure their origins and motives, such as Yula, Yomi, and Chihaya. Following the conflict, many prominent individuals were said to have traveled towards the Empire, including Zenoa and Mourgent, around the time a civil war broke out there, though the causes and outcome are unknown.
