The Auster Folk (リジッドフオーク, Rijiddofōku, Rigid Folk) are a race that appears in Suikoden Tierkreis. They are a proud race of giants who believe that the world should remain exactly as it is as much as possible.

Information

The Auster Folk are a race of giants, characteruzed by their strong bodies and the single horn in middle of their foreheads. They live in the northern part of the continent, mainly concentrated around the city of Lugenik in the Svatgol Mountains.

Their cultural philosophy is that the world should stay as it is at present, resisting the notion that things should be changed by an individual or group's will. As such, they believed there was similarity between their beliefs and that of the Order of the One True Way, who preached a form of predestination and the two groups had an alliance with one another.

In truth, the Auster Folk had previous fought against the One King in years past and had come to the world they currently inhabit through the fusion of their original world to this one. Traditionally, the Auster Folk would seek guidance from Ordovic, their First Ancestor, but they had not been able to commune with him since the Order took their Chronicle of Noble Steel.

When the Chronicle was returned, the appearance of Ordovic and the regaining of Chief Kashgar's memories of the previous world would convince the Auster Folk of their folly and they would come to ally themselves with the Company against the Order's plans, which involved changing the world on a fundamental level.
