Although Tomo shoehorned her way into the New State Army with ulterior motives, she fought very hard alongside her father throughout the [[Dunan Unification War]], proving her worth in battle many times over with a spearmanship comparable to that of her father.

As the war continued, she expressed her concern for Tsai's safety. Tsai would agree with the dangers of war but vowed to continue fighting regardless. He would also ask Tomo to tell her mother that she never found him should he die in the upcoming battles, much to her dismay.
