It is a tie-in guide book released by the Japanese shōnen magazine V Jump under their V Jump Books imprint. It is the first licensed [[Suikoden series]] publication.

The book serves as a mostly complete walkthrough of the first [[Suikoden]] game, with some late-game elements and recruits obfuscated (but not entirely omitted).
