The Kindling Ritual (火入れの儀式, Hiire no Gishiki) was a ceremony performed by the Knights of Gaien in Suikoden IV.
Information
The Kindling Ritual was an annual festival that formed part of the graduation ceremony of the Knights of Gaien, located on the island of Razril.
Its origin lies in a Razril legend. The legend stated that long ago, when Razril was in crisis, it was saved by the power of a legendary knight. The Kindling Ritual is said to be a recreation of when that knight was welcomed into Razril.[1]
In the ceremony, a person is selected from among the graduating trainees to carry a torch, and the chosen torchbearer distributes the fire to the townspeople. The SY 306 ceremony saw Snowe Vingerhut chosen as the torchbearer at graduation.[2]
