The Imperial City Recapture Army (王都奪還軍, Ōto Dakkan-gun) is the protagonist's force in Suikoden V. It was formed to resist the Godwin Faction coup d'etat and formed one side of the Sun Rune War.
Information
In SY 449, the initial Imperial City Recapture Army was established by the Prince of Falena to resist the Godwin Faction, who had rebelled against the Queendom of Falena's royal family, beginning the Sun Rune War.
Initially, the force acted as a rebel army under the backing of Salum Barows, but after the Barows Faction's theft of the Dawn Rune came to light the two parted ways. At this point a truly independent forced led by the prince was born. With the aid of Lucretia Merces, the army established the Ceras Lake Headquarters and became a formidable force both militarily and diplomatically.
As the Sun Rune War continued not only did the Recapture Army achieve victories in battle against the Godwin Faction but also entered into agreements with the Island Nations Federation, Feitas Dragon Cavalry, and even the Godwin's former allies in the New Armes Kingdom.
Following the liberation of Sol-Falena and Princess Lymsleia Falenas, the army would stand down with its officers falling into a variety of roles in the nation post-war.
